I don't think you will ever get me to stop talking about Moody Coffee Roasters. We love it so much that we actually order their beans for our at-home espresso machine on a monthly basis - which, if you know how particular I am about coffee, tells you everything you need to know.
It's a tiny but mighty coffee shop and roastery located right in the heart of downtown Chamonix, just a short walk from the Aiguille du Midi base station. Easy to reach from any part of town, and therefore, quite easy to pop into multiple times per day (totally guilty of this).

The other main draw for me is the open-face toasts, the tartines. I could honestly eat them every single day for breakfast. We almost always ordered from the breakfast menu, but they also do a lovely lunch variety if you're stopping in later in the day. I walked into Shoukâ with only one thing in mind: coffee, thinking I was walking into just another coffee shop. But I was quite wrong!
Yes, they serve great espresso. However, Shoukâ is also a chocolaterie - and once you're inside, you’ll become instantly aware that it's a complete feast for the senses. 4. Couloir Chamonix
Couloir is easy to walk right past - it's a tiny little spot tucked between various shops near the Chamonix train station. But keep your eyes peeled, it’s worth it.
They serve Moody Coffee, which alone puts them in great company, and in addition to the coffee they have a lovely little menu for breakfast and lunch, and some very nice baked goods. The location makes it the ideal stop if you're exploring that side of town and don't want to trek back across to Moody itself. Same incredible coffee, different area.

Chalet de la Floria is not technically a coffee shop. But I'd be doing you a major disservice if I left it off this list!
It's a stone mountain hut perched on the forested hillside directly above Chamonix - and it is pure magic. Covered in multicolor flowers, with a “terrace” of bistro tables under vibrant umbrellas and a view over the valley that makes you feel like you've stumbled into a fairytale oasis. The vibe alone is worth the hike.
And yes, there is a hike. From downtown Chamonix it's under 4 miles round-trip, but you gain almost 1,000 feet of elevation - so this is a proper hike, not a stroll. Plan accordingly, wear appropriate footwear, and start early enough that you can relax at the top without rushing back. Also, bring cash. Sometimes card is not accepted. When we went, we were able to pay with credit card, but I have heard of multiple people having to bail because they required cash.
